Job summary

VGW Australia is seeking a Privacy Specialist to support the Data Protection Manager and advance a privacy-by-design culture across the organisation. You will embed industry-standard practices and lead privacy initiatives in collaboration with technology, legal, security and procurement teams.

The role involves managing data inventories, DPIAs, policy drafting, and regulatory monitoring, while handling inquiries and coordinating audits.

Qualifications

• Experience applying privacy by design principles in business processes.
• Knowledge of GDPR, CCPA, CAN-SPAM, and APPs.
• Ability to draft and review privacy policies and notices.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Manages day-to-day operations of the privacy function, including data inventory and flow mapping, privacy impact assessments, privacy requests, policy drafting, regulatory monitoring, metric development, and incident management.
• Draft, review and update privacy policies, notices, internal standards, procedures and workflows.
• Completes Privacy Impact Assessments for new processing activities, IT changes, projects and data ingests.
• Provides internal privacy guidance to stakeholders and coordinates privacy audits.
• Leads VGW's Vendor Risk Management privacy streamlining processes.
• Collaborates with global stakeholders on privacy operations projects across technology, legal, security and contracts teams.
• Handles privacy inquiries, complaints, escalations from players, employees and regulators, and provides clear recommendations.
• Leads privacy investigations and triages data incidents with Information Security; conducts breach notification assessments under GDPR and Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
• Identifies and implements latest privacy practices and promotes privacy awareness and training.
