Job summary

WorkSafe Victoria is seeking a Privacy Advisor to join the FOI & Privacy team in Geelong. The role supports the Privacy Lead to promote privacy compliance in the handling of personal and health information. It is a hybrid role (3 days in office) based in Wadawurrung / Geelong, with a lucrative salary and 12% superannuation.

The successful candidate will support privacy activities, policies, and training while coordinating privacy incidents and DPIA work across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of Victorian public sector privacy obligations and relevant acts.
• Experience in compliance, risk management, governance, training and policy development.

Responsibilities

• Support Privacy Lead to monitor privacy compliance and drive maturity.
• Assist in implementing processes and policies to meet privacy obligations.
• Act as liaison for Privacy Champions across the organisation.
• Support Privacy Impact Assessments and routine privacy enquiries.
• Assist in maintaining assurance programs for third-party privacy controls.
• Review and update privacy statements and notices for projects.
• Support privacy training and awareness, including targeted programs.
• Coordinate incident notification and remediation of privacy issues.
• Track privacy incidents and identify emerging trends.
• Review and update privacy policies and procedures continuously.
