Firmus Technologies in Sydney, Australia, is seeking a Principal Engineer, Platform to own the platform used by engineers across public cloud and on-premises data centres. Self‑service and security come first; the engineer should enable service creation, environment provisioning, and production deployment with minimal oversight.

Responsibilities include setting a 2–3 year architecture vision, designing a scalable platform, and aligning delivery with cost, reliability, and security standards

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years in platform, infrastructure, or software engineering with principal level or equivalent.
• Experience with infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and GitOps.
• Strong Go or Python development and Kubernetes expertise.

Mansioni

• Own architecture of the platform across multi-site environments and plan a technical roadmap.
• Lead design reviews and ensure secure, scalable deployments across regions.
• Drive self-service via a platform API, and maintain production-ready, auditable pipelines.
