Job summary

Firmus Technologies seeks a Principal Engineer, Platform to own the engineering platform across public cloud and data centres, enabling self-service with secure, scalable deployments for hundreds of thousands of GPUs in production.

You will lead architecture decisions, advance Kubernetes and VM clusters, and drive cross-team design reviews while ensuring governance, reliability, and cost control. This is a global role with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in platform, infrastructure, or software engineering with principal level experience.
• Hands-on with infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and GitOps across multiple sites.
• Experience running Kubernetes on self-managed and cloud environments.
• Strong written and verbal English communication; able to explain trade-offs.

Responsibilities

• Own the platform architecture and multi-site management across public cloud and on-premises.
• Lead self-service design, service catalog, and production-readiness and security standards.
• Define rollout strategies, capacity planning, and regional deployment for scalability.
• Drive incident response, post-mortems, and continuous improvement with evidence-based decisions.
• Collaborate with product, infrastructure, and security leaders to shape the platform roadmap.
