Job summary

Stanmore Resources is seeking a Principal Mining Engineer to lead scheduling governance and integration between the principal and major contractor planning teams on site. The role focuses on developing and governing mine reserves for short- to medium-term horizons while aligning site outputs with long-term corporate planning.

You will leverage your expertise in open-pit mining, with a strong emphasis on safety and continuous improvement, to deliver technical outputs and drive value drivers

Qualifications

• Strong capability in Spry and Deswik CAD.
• Experience in large open pit mining operations.
• A commitment to safety and continuous improvement, including process improvement.
• A Bachelor of Engineering degree (Mining or Civil) or equivalent.
• Understanding of value drivers in large open pit mining operations.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to influence a range of internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience in working with contractors from a technical perspective is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop, audit and govern single reserve database for excavation and dumps.
• Develop, audit, integrate and govern technical mine planning outputs and deliverables between the major contractor and principal.
• Develop and maintain site scheduling cost model for margin ranking and option analysis.
• Identify and mitigate plan risks, minimising production disruption.
• Ensure short term alignment to long term strategy.
• Have the opportunity to grow professionally and step or across into leadership positions.

Job description

Reporting directly to the Mine Planning Superintendent, the Principal Mining Engineer will play an integral role in the operations short to medium term success. The role will have responsibility for managing contractor deliverables for our major contractor on site, as well as manage integration between principal and contractor planning teams. The role will have responsibility and involvement in the development, implementation and governance of mine reserves for short and medium term scheduling horizons, and be responsible for technical deliverables and technical integration of our major contractor outputs. As a technical expert in scheduling and reserving, the role will work closely with site operations and technical teams and work to align with long term planning at the corporate office.

In this role you will:
