Job summary

Gold Fields is recruiting a Mining Planning Engineer to deliver short- and medium-term plans for open pit operations, aligning with safety, production and cost targets. The role operates on a FIFO roster from Perth and offers exposure to world-class mines.

You will develop mine plans, review economic evaluations, and collaborate with teams to meet strategic objectives while maintaining essential safety standards and budget expectations.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of statutory safety requirements relevant to mining.
• Strong open pit engineering experience, ideally in gold.
• Proficiency in MS Office and mining software (APS or ATS).
• Manual Driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Develop accurate short to medium term mine plans that support operational objectives and LOM timeframes.
• Review economic evaluations for each mine design to ensure financial objectives are met under cut-off grades.
• Create infrastructure plans and schedules aligned with mining interactions and budget constraints.
• Provide timely and accurate planning guidance for the mining department production schedules.
• Collaborate across departments to support key projects.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Senior Engineer: Mine Planning, you will deliver short- and medium‑term planning and scheduling for open pit operations to meet safety, production and cost targets aligned with Gruyere's strategic objectives. This role is offered on 8 days on 6 days off FIFO roster from Perth

What You’ll Do

• Develop accurate short to medium term mine plans that support operational objectives and LOM timeframes.
• Review economic evaluations for each mine design completed within the Engineering Team to ensure financial objectives are met under determined cut-off grades
• Create infrastructure plans and schedules aligned with mining interactions and budget constraints
• Providing timely and accurate planning guidance for the delivery of the mining department production schedules.
• Collaborate across departments to support key projects.

What You’ll Bring

• Tertiary Qualifications in Mining Engineering, or a related discipline
• Strong knowledge of statutory safety requirements relevant to mining
• Strong open pit engineering experience, ideally in gold with
