Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Principal Hydraulic Engineer to lead hydraulic design for diverse building projects in Perth, WA. The role is senior and client-facing, with mentoring responsibilities and cross-disciplinary coordination.

Hybrid work and significant project leadership are core elements of the position. The successful candidate will own technical delivery, ensure QA, and guide a team of engineers across Australia, delivering rainwater harvesting, water reticulation, and energy-efficient systems

Qualifications

10+ years of hydraulic engineering experience in consulting preferred.
Strong knowledge of Australian Standards, NCC/BCA and codes.
Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
RPEQ/RPEV registration or ability to obtain.
Excellent written and verbal communication with clients and teams.
Experience leading hydraulic design, reviews and direction.
Proficiency in MS Office and hydraulic software.

Responsibilities

Lead hydraulic engineering across a portfolio of building projects.
Own technical delivery, reviews, QA, and sign-off.
Coordinate hydraulics with multi-disciplinary teams.
Engage with clients and stakeholders to translate needs into solutions.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers.
Contribute to national hydraulics capability and projects.
Deliver services including rainwater harvesting, drainage, water reticulation, and energy-efficient systems.
