Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead electrical building services across Australia. You will work with clients, project managers and design teams to deliver sustainable, practical engineering solutions from concept to handover.

You will guide multidisciplinary teams, oversee technical standards, and mentor engineers while developing long-term relationships with clients and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Significant experience in a building services consulting environment.
• Proven experience leading and delivering complex building projects.
• Understanding of NCC, Australian Standards and industry regulations is highly regarded.
• Expertise in LV power system and lighting design, including modelling software such as PowerCAD and AGi32/DIALux.
• Excellent stakeholder management and client relationship skills.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary project teams and manage competing priorities.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Collaborative, proactive and solution-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of complex electrical building services projects.
• Act as a trusted advisor to clients and contribute to long-term relationships.
• Manage projects from feasibility, master planning and concept design through to construction, commissioning and handover.
• Provide technical oversight and quality assurance across project teams.
• Prepare and review engineering reports, specifications, calculations and design documentation.
• Undertake LV power system and lighting design using PowerCAD and AGi32/DIALux.
• Mentor, coach and support engineers and graduates.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated design solutions.
• Contribute to business development initiatives and identify opportunities for repeat and new work.
• Support the ongoing growth, culture and strategic direction of the Electrical team.
• Promote and uphold Stantec's standards.
