Job summary

Malvern Central School in Melbourne’s south‑east is seeking an experienced classroom teacher to deliver high‑quality instruction for Foundation to Year 6 students. The role focuses on literacy and numeracy, student wellbeing, and aligning programs with the Victorian Curriculum.

You will work with a strong team dedicated to student growth, agency and inclusive practices, underpinned by a strategic plan and collaborative planning across campuses.

Qualifications

• SC1: Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including the ability to incorporate the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills.
• SC2: Demonstrated experience in planning for and implementing high impact teaching strategies, guided by how students learn, and evaluating the impact of learning and teaching programs on student learning growth.
• SC3: Demonstrated experience in monitoring and assessing student learning, using data to inform teaching practice and provide feedback to students and parents.
• SC4: Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to build collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues and the community.
• SC5: Behaviours and attitudes consistent with department values and commitment to ongoing professional learning.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of classes and individual students to achieve targeted outcomes.
• Contribute to curriculum design, delivery and program evaluation.
• Undertake related teaching and organisational duties as required by the school.
• Participate in parent/teacher meetings and school activities.
• Support supervision duties and additional responsibilities as assigned.
