Job summary

The classroom teacher role may involve additional duties based on salary range, qualifications, and experience, with opportunities to mentor student teachers and lead data-informed teaching initiatives.

Qualifications

• SC1: Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including the ability to teach literacy and numeracy skills and respond to learning needs.
• SC2: Experience planning and implementing high impact teaching strategies guided by how students learn, and evaluating the impact of learning programs on growth.
• SC3: Experience monitoring and assessing learning and using data to inform teaching and feedback to students and parents.
• SC4: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, collaborating with students, parents, colleagues and the school community.
• SC5: Behaviours and attitudes aligned with Department values, with ongoing professional learning to improve teaching quality.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups and individuals.
• Contribute to development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum areas or programs.
• Undertake other classroom duties as determined by the School Principal.
• Participate in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions.
• Undertake other non-teaching supervisory duties.
