Job summary

Mulherin on the Gold Coast is seeking an experienced supervisor to oversee precast concrete installation on construction sites. You will manage installation crews and subcontractors, coordinate crane lifts, read drawings, and ensure safety and quality on every project.

You will work closely with project managers and engineers, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to WHS, lift plans and site procedures. A strong leader with experience across commercial, industrial and infrastructure projects is

Qualifications

• Experience with precast concrete erection and sequencing.
• Experience with mobile and/or tower cranes.
• Ability to read and interpret structural/precast drawings.
• Experience managing installation crews and subcontractors.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Valid safety-related licences (HWL, White Card) and a current driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate crane lifts, including sequencing and site access.
• Ensure precast elements are installed correctly and safely.
• Read and interpret shop drawings and lifting docs.
• Monitor progress and flag delays or issues.
• Manage installation crews and subcontractors on site.

• Conduct toolbox talks and brief crews on tasks and safety.
• Monitor workmanship to project specs.

Job description

Supervise and coordinate precast concrete installation on construction sites. Manage installation crews, subcontractors and site personnel, coordinating daily installation activities to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards. Work closely with project managers, engineers, crane crews, builders and other site personnel.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate crane lifts, including lift sequencing, crane positioning and site access requirements
• Ensure precast panels, beams, columns, stairs and other elements are installed correctly and safely
• Read and interpret precast shop drawings, erection drawings and lifting documentation
• Monitor project progress against installation programs and identify potential delays or issues
• Resolve installation and site-related problems quickly and effectively
• Maintain strong communication with clients, builders and other contractors
• Ensure all work complies with WHS requirements, lift plans, SWMS and site procedures
• Conduct toolbox meetings and ensure installation crews understand daily tasks and safety requirements
• Monitor workmanship and ensure installation is completed to project specifications
• Coordinate deliveries and ensure precast elements are available when required for installation

About you

• Strong understanding of precast concrete erection methods and sequencing
• Experience working with mobile cranes, tower cranes and/or other lifting equipment
• Good understanding of crane lifting operations, rigging and load handling
• Ability to read and understand structural and precast drawings
• Previous experience managing installation crews and subcontractors
• Strong project coordination and organisational skills
• Excellent communication and people management skills
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure
• High Risk Work Licence - Dogging, Rigging or Crane operation, White Card, or current driver's licence
• Stable position with an established Queensland precast manufacturer
