Job summary

Tassal Operations is seeking an Aquaculture Technician for our Proserpine Prawn Farm, located between Airlie Beach and Bowen. This is a full-time max term contract for 6 months with a 7/7 roster and night shifts from 6pm to 6am, playing a key role in maintaining prawn health and optimal growth conditions.

You will monitor ponds daily, assess health and water quality, follow safety protocols, and record data on an iPad while assisting with general farm operations.

Qualifications

• Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all conditions.
• Basic technology skills - comfortable using iPads.
• Aquaculture/farming experience (advantageous but not essential)
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts (6pm - 6am) on a 7/7 roster.
• Hold driver’s licence and have reliable transport to site.
• Full working rights in Australia

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily pond monitoring, checking prawn health, water quality and aeration systems
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures
• Use digital systems (iPad) to record data and complete tasks
• Support the team with general farm operations as required
