Job summary

Tassal Group is seeking an Aquaculture Technician for our Proserpine Prawn Farm, located between Airlie Beach and Bowen. This full-time max-term contract runs for 6 months with a night shift from 6pm to 6am on a 7/7 roster.

You will monitor ponds, ensure animal health, uphold safety, and record data using iPads in a fast-paced aquaculture setting. Australian working rights required.

• Reliable and safety-conscious in all tasks.
• Basic technology skills and comfortable using iPads.

• Hold a valid driver’s licence and reliable transport to site.

The role:

We are seeking an Aquaculture Technician to join our team at our Proserpine Prawn Farm, located in the beautiful region between Airlie Beach and Bowen.

This is a full-time max term contract position for 6 months: night shift (6pm-6am) on a 7/7 roster. You'll play a key role in maintaining animal health and ensuring optimal conditions for prawn growth in our fast-paced aquaculture environment.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct daily pond monitoring, checking prawn health, water quality and aeration systems
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures
• Use digital systems (iPad) to record data and complete tasks
• Support the team with general farm operations as required

Role requirements:

• Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all conditions
• Strong attention to detail and capable of identifying potential issues early
• Reliable and safety-conscious
• Basic technology skills - comfortable using iPads
• Aquaculture/farming experience (advantageous but not essential)
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts (6pm - 6am) on a 7/7 roster
• Team player with positive attitude
• Hold adriver’s licenceand have reliable transport to site
• Full working rights in Australia
