Job summary

Tassal Group in Proserpine, QLD, is seeking a Feed Technician to operate and maintain automated feeding systems on our prawn farm. You will ensure prawns receive precise feed, monitor equipment, and collaborate with operations teams.

This full-time max-term role runs until April 2027 on a 7/7 roster, offering an hourly rate plus a $360 per fortnight pro-rata allowance, plus salary packaging and wellbeing benefits.

Qualifications

• Must have strong mechanical aptitude and proven problem-solving abilities.
• Reliable and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Effective communication skills and ability to follow instructions precisely.
• Must have transport and the right to work in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Operate and manage automated feeding systems to ensure prawn health and growth.
• Regularly inspect, clean and maintain feeders, hydrophones and feed pipes.
• Identify and fix mechanical issues with feeding equipment to minimise downtime.
• Collaborate with farm operations and central feed teams to refine feeding strategies.
• Adhere to company quality assurance and safety standards.
