Indigo HR is seeking an experienced Practice Manager to join a new specialist orthopaedic practice, establishing systems and workflows from day one. The role involves coordinating clinics and admin across SAN Wahroonga, Westmead/Norwest, with hybrid work options and future focus on broader practice management.
In time, a Medical Secretary will join to allow you to concentrate more on operations, processes and growth.
If you’re someone who would love the opportunity to join a new specialist practice, help establish the systems and processes from the outset and evolve your own role as the practice grows, this could be a wonderful next move.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Practice Manager to join a new orthopaedic practice and play an important role in establishing how it operates.
This will be a hands‑on Practice Manager role from the outset. In the early stages of the practice, you’ll work closely with the specialists across both Practice Management and medical secretarial responsibilities — coordinating clinics and day‑to‑day administration while also establishing the systems, processes and workflows that will support the practice as it grows.
You’ll be predominantly based at SAN Wahroonga, with some travel to clinics at Westmead Private Hospital and Norwest Private Hospital. The role also offers genuine flexibility, with the opportunity to work from home up to three half days each week, however there is flexibility to be based at either Westmead or Norwest.
What makes this opportunity a little different is the chance to help shape the Practice Manager role alongside the practice itself.
As the practice grows and develops, the plan is to bring a Medical Secretary on board, allowing you to step back from some of the day‑to‑day secretarial responsibilities and focus more of your time on the broader Practice Management responsibilities — including operations, systems and processes, workflow improvement and the ongoing development of the practice.
While this is a Practice Manager position, we’d also love to hear from highly experienced Senior Medical Secretaries or Practice Coordinators who are ready to take on broader Practice Management responsibility and feel excited by the opportunity to help establish a new practice.

Help shape how the practice operates – have genuine input into establishing systems, processes and workflows.
Grow your Practice Manager role alongside the practice – be hands‑on across both management and medical secretarial responsibilities initially, with an increasing focus on broader Practice Management as the practice grows.
Use your systems mindset – ideal if you enjoy creating structure, improving workflows and finding better ways of doing things.
Take real ownership – work closely with the specialists and become someone they can rely on across the day‑to‑day running of the practice.
Enjoy plenty of variety – combine medical secretarial duties, clinic coordination, patient administration and broader practice operations.
Hybrid flexibility – work from home for three half days each week.
Attractive remuneration – $50-$55 per hour + super, depending on experience.
Longer-term opportunity – grow your responsibilities and career as the practice develops.
You’ll have a varied role and really have your finger on the pulse of the practice — knowing what’s happening across the clinics, what needs attention and what needs to happen next to keep everything moving smoothly.
We’d love to hear from an experienced Practice Manager who enjoys being hands‑on, taking ownership and contributing to how a practice operates and develops. We’d also welcome applications from highly experienced Senior Medical Secretaries or Practice Coordinators who are ready to step into a Practice Manager role and bring the confidence, initiative and broader thinking that comes with that responsibility.
You may already be working as a Practice Manager, or you may have built substantial experience within specialist medical administration and feel ready to take that next step. Either way, you’ll enjoy being close to the day‑to‑day running of the practice while also thinking more broadly about systems, processes, workflows and how the practice develops.
