1300SMILES Douglas is seeking an experienced Practice Manager to lead our team on the James Cook University campus, ensuring excellent patient care and smooth daily operations. You will partner with clinicians to optimise workflows and drive performance across the practice.

1300SMILES Douglas is seeking an experienced Practice Manager to lead our team, drive practice performance and create a positive environment for both patients and employees.

Located on the James Cook University campus, just minutes from Townsville University Hospital, our practice serves a diverse community of students, healthcare professionals, families and long-term patients. You'll join an established practice with an experienced clinical team and play an important role in its continued growth and success.

Job Description

• Lead, coach and develop the practice team, building a positive and accountable culture


• Take ownership of day-to-day operations and overall practice performance


• Work closely with clinicians to maintain efficient workflows and high standards of patient care


• Monitor practice performance and identify opportunities to improve growth, efficiency and patient engagement


• Drive initiatives that enhance the patient journey from their first interaction through to treatment completion


• Oversee administrative, compliance and operational requirements


• Support recruitment, onboarding, performance management and ongoing team development


• Build strong relationships across the practice and lead by example

Qualifications

• Previous Practice Management experience within a dental or healthcare setting


• Strong people leadership skills, with a track record of coaching and developing teams


• A solid understanding of dental practice operations, KPIs and financial performance


• The ability to identify opportunities for improvement and turn them into action


• Excellent organisational skills and confidence managing competing priorities


• Clear communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with clinicians, patients and support teams


• Strong computer skills, with experience using dental practice management software considered highly desirable.


• A genuine commitment to creating a positive experience for both patients and the team
