Job summary

APA Group in Mount Isa is seeking a Mechanical Technician to join the Power and Electricity Transmission team at the Diamantina Power Facility on a full-time basis. Reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader, you will maintain and repair mechanical systems, diagnose issues, and ensure safe, reliable operations.

You'll work with technicians, operators and engineers, provide technical support and training, and stay current with industry trends to advise on improvements.

Qualifications

• Strong technical skills with understanding of mechanical systems and infrastructure.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities to diagnose and resolve issues.
• Clear communication to explain technical concepts to non-technical staff.
• Knowledge of industry regulations and standards.
• Experience with high-speed rotating equipment and steam systems preferred.
