Job summary

APA Group is seeking an E&I Technician to join the Power and Electricity Transmission team at the Diamantina Power Facility in Mount Isa. You will maintain and repair electrical and instrumentation systems, ensuring safety and reliability across multiple assets, and support minor projects.

Reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader, you will diagnose issues, comply with regulations, and collaborate with technicians, operators, and engineers to optimise performance.

Qualifications

• Electrical & instrumentation systems knowledge relevant to energy transmission.
• Strong problem-solving skills with ability to diagnose issues.
• Good communication to explain complex concepts to non-technical staff.
• Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and standards.
• Hold a Queensland electrical fitter/ mechanic licence.
• Certificate III in Instrumentation highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair electrical and instrumentation systems to ensure safety and reliability.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical and instrumentation issues.
• Comply with industry regulations and standards to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Collaborate with other technicians, operators and engineers to improve performance of electrical and instrumentation systems.
• Provide technical support and training to other staff as needed.
• Stay up to date with latest technologies and industry trends to advise on potential improvements.
