Job summary

APA Group is seeking a Mechanical Technician to join the Power and Electricity Transmission team in Mount Isa at the Diamantina Power Facility on a full-time permanent basis.

You will maintain and repair mechanical systems, diagnose issues, and ensure compliance with industry standards to keep operations safe and reliable. The role collaborates with technicians, operators and engineers to drive performance improvements and share knowledge across the team.

Qualifications

• Strong technical skills with a solid understanding of mechanical systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve issues.
• Good communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical staff.
• Knowledge of industry regulations and standards related to mechanical systems.
• Experience with high-speed rotating equipment and steam systems is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair mechanical systems to ensure safety and reliability.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to these systems.
