Job summary

APA Group is seeking an E&I Technician to join the Power and Electricity Transmission team at the Diamantina Power Facility in Mount Isa. You will maintain and repair electrical and instrumentation systems, ensuring safety and reliability across multiple assets, and support minor projects.

Reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader, you will diagnose issues, comply with regulations, and collaborate with technicians, operators, and engineers to optimise performance.

Qualifications

• Electrical & instrumentation systems knowledge relevant to energy transmission.
• Strong problem-solving skills with ability to diagnose issues.
• Good communication to explain complex concepts to non-technical staff.
• Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and standards.
• Hold a Queensland electrical fitter/ mechanic licence.
• Certificate III in Instrumentation highly regarded.

Responsibilities

We now have an exciting opportunity available for an E&I Technician to join us in our Power and Electricity Transmission team in Mount Isa at the Diamantina Power Facility on a full-time permanent basis.

Reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader, you will play a key role in maintaining and repairing electrical and instrumentation systems, and minor projects. This includes ensuring the safety and reliability of these systems, diagnosing and resolving electrical issues, and complying with industry regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities

Your background

• Strong technical skills with a good understanding of electrical and instrumentation systems and infrastructure.

• Knowledge of industry regulations and standards related to electrical systems.
• Hold a Queensland electrical fitter/ mechanic licence.
• A Certificate III in Instrumentation will be highly regarded.

The team safely operate and maintain the assets at Diamantina Power Facility which includes Diamantina Power Station, Leichhardt Power Station, Thomson Power Station, D Switch Yard, and Dugald River Solar Farm.

These assets are operated in an efficient and cost-effective manner to enable APA to achieve its business strategy and goals, extract maximum value from its assets, and deliver value for its customers.
