Job summary

KBR Government Solutions in Alice Springs, Australia, seeks an Electrical Engineer for Power to lead operations and maintenance of a 24x7 facility. You will oversee a CPP Manager, manage work orders, and ensure regulatory compliance while driving energy management and automation initiatives.

The role requires a PE-licensed Electrical Engineer with 7+ years in high-reliability power systems, SCADA/BMS familiarity, and experience in secured environments.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with adjudicated polygraph or Host Nation TS/PV clearance.
• Electrical Engineering degree from an accredited university, and PE license preferred.
• Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in medium and low voltage distribution; experience with high voltage distribution and frequency conversion equipment.
• Experience in secured/restricted areas, data centers, power & cooling, configuration management activities, and knowledge of the Uptime Institute Tier configuration topologies.
• Knowledge of electrical power distribution from generation to rack-mounted equipment; SCADA and Building Management Systems familiarity.
• Experience in 24x7x365 mission-critical environments where continuous availability is essential.
• Ability to read construction design and equipment drawings.
• Understanding of LEAN/Six Sigma, ISO 9000.
• Operations management experience for large physical plants including 4160KV, 480KV, RUPS, diesel generators, chillers, cooling towers, VAVs, and fuel storage systems.

Responsibilities

• Direct the operations and maintenance of the site’s CPP Manager and all facility equipment supporting critical site operations.
• Manage Work Orders, including resource management and customer interfacing.
• Enforce operational and maintenance standards to meet contractual and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate activities to align with contract requirements and ensure smooth plant operations.
• Ensure continuous availability of critical infrastructure for around-the-clock mission support.
• Evaluate facilities to guide upgrades for energy management and automation.
• Implement work processes and use data analysis to achieve reliable equipment performance.
• Draft comprehensive reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.
• Communicate effectively with diverse teams and resolve operational issues.
• Uphold environmental, health & safety and regulatory standards.
• Monitor contractual obligations and regulatory changes affecting operations.
