Job summary

KBR is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead mechanical, civil, electrical, and structural engineering support for construction and renovation activities. You will manage a team of specialists, oversee design reviews, O&M programs, and ensure safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance for a 24x7 mission-critical environment.

The role is based in Alice Springs, Australia at a 4,400-acre facility, onsite 100%.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with adjudicated CI polygraph or Host Nation TS/PV clearance.
• Engineering degree from an accredited university (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Controls).
• 7+ years of design reviews and O&M facility-related programs of similar size and complexity.
• 5+ years as a Senior Project Manager supervising PMs, engineers and subcontractors.
• Experience managing a multi-million-dollar project portfolio with cost and schedule balance.
• Experience in 24x7x365 mission-critical environments requiring continuous availability.
• Experience building recapitalization plans.
• Ability to read construction design and equipment drawings.
• Knowledge of process improvement models (LEAN/Six Sigma, ISO 9000).
• Experience developing SOPs and Emergency Response Procedures.
• Knowledge in MEP concepts of operation and electrical generation procedures.
• Demonstrated supervisory experience with strong organizational and leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide electrical, mechanical, civil, and structural engineering support for construction/renovation activities, feasibility studies, ROM cost estimates, and taskers.
• Review proposed infrastructure changes and ensure compliance with regulations and site standards.
• Manage Work Orders including resource management and interfacing with customer representatives.
• Hire, train, and lead a competent workforce.
• Coordinate activities to align with contract requirements and ensure smooth plant operations.
• Ensure continuity of critical infrastructure operations for 24/7 mission support.
• Evaluate facilities to prioritize upgrade projects for energy management and automation.
• Implement processes and use data analysis to deliver reliable equipment performance at cost-effective rates.
• Draft reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.
• Communicate with diverse teams and resolve operational issues.
• Uphold EH&S and regulatory requirements and monitor changes.
• Physical tasks include lifting up to 50 lbs as needed.
