Job summary

Mineral Resources Limited in Western Australia is offering a full-time Electrical Power Station Operator Maintainer role. The position is an initial 18-month fixed-term contract with FIFO from Perth, including on-site training and opportunities to advance your career on the tools and as a leader.

The role requires operating and maintaining gas reciprocating engines, instrumentation, SCADA, and power generation equipment, with on-call duties and a focus on safety and reliability in remote site

Qualifications

• Demonstrated commitment to safety.
• Ability to work autonomously in remote location areas.
• Extensive experience and sound knowledge of power systems and control circuitry.
• Previous experience in running and maintaining Gas reciprocating engines.
• A high standard of fault finding and trouble‑shooting ability.
• Australian or Australian recognised mechanical trade qualification.
• Current Australian Driver's License.
• HRWL (DG, RB, CN, WP) (highly desirable).
• Construction Induction Card.
• Working at Heights, Confined Space and Gas Testing (desirable).
• Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC).
• Ability to meet pre‑employment medical and drug & alcohol screening requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain gas reciprocating engines and power generation equipment.
• Operate instrumentation and process control systems.
• Undertake routine inspections and maintenance on the power station ancillary equipment.
• Monitor power station operations via SCADA and other software‑based systems, ensuring site operations meet requirements and identifying improvement opportunities.
• Undertake typical housekeeping duties.
• Maintain stock inventory.
• Supervise and support other MRL employees and/or contractors conducting works within the power station, ensuring MRL HSE policies are followed.
• Participate in On Call activities when rostered on site, ensuring prompt after-hours response.
• Conduct routine maintenance to site assets as and when required.
