Hunter Retaining Wall Construction Pty Ltd – Maitland NSW is seeking experienced trades professionals to construct post and sleeper retaining walls across civil subdivisions, commercial, and large residential projects. The role rewards workmanship, safety, and efficiency, with attention to high-quality outcomes.

You will set out walls, drill holes, install posts and sleepers, and ensure walls are straight, level, and structurally sound while managing drainage and earthworks.

Qualifications

• Proven experience building post and sleeper retaining walls.
• Strong understanding of levels, measurements and set-out.
• Good knowledge of drainage and retaining wall construction.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
• Good physical fitness and ability to work outdoors.
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
• High attention to detail and quality workmanship.
• White Card and relevant licences/tickets are an advantage.
• Must have own and reliable transport.
• Excavator and skid steer loader experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set out and construct post and sleeper retaining walls.
• Drilling and prepare post holes and footings.
• Install steel posts accurately and securely.
• Install sleepers and ensure walls are straight, level and structurally sound.
• Complete drainage, backfilling and associated earthworks.
• Reading plans and accurately measure/set out work.
• Maintain a clean and safe worksite.
• Work independently and as part of a team.
• Management of plant and equipment.
