Responsibilities

• Manage the post-construction, defects and DLP phases of Class 2 residential projects
• Oversee apartment handovers, defects inspections and rectification works
• Manage subcontractors, trades and consultants to ensure timely resolution of defects
• Liaise with owners, strata managers, consultants and other stakeholders
• Coordinate and respond to client and resident concerns throughout the defects period
• Track defects, outstanding works and DLP obligations through to completion
• Investigate construction issues and coordinate appropriate rectification solutions
• Maintain accurate records, reporting and project documentation
• Ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with relevant standards
• Support the wider construction team with handover and post-completion requirements

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Post Construction Manager to oversee the post-completion phase of major Class 2 residential projects. This role will be responsible for managing handovers, defects, DLP obligations and post-construction works, while maintaining strong relationships with clients, owners, strata representatives and key stakeholders.

The successful candidate will have strong experience within Class 2 residential construction, with a proven ability to manage defects, coordinate trades and subcontractors, resolve issues efficiently and ensure projects are completed to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the post-construction, defects and DLP phases of Class 2 residential projects
• Oversee apartment handovers, defects inspections and rectification works
• Manage subcontractors, trades and consultants to ensure timely resolution of defects
• Liaise with owners, strata managers, consultants and other stakeholders

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in a Post Construction, Defects, Building Services or Construction Management role
• Strong background delivering Class 2 residential / apartment projects

• Strong understanding of residential construction, finishes and building services
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to manage multiple defects and rectification works simultaneously
• Strong attention to detail and accountability
• Proficiency with relevant construction software and MS Office

Preferred Experience

• Experience managing post-construction works across large-scale apartment developments
• Previous exposure to strata, owners corporations and resident/client interactions
• Experience coordinating consultants, subcontractors and specialist trades
• Strong understanding of NSW construction requirements and residential building standards
• Trade or construction-related qualification preferred
