Job summary

Carrathool Shire Council recruits a Pool Attendant to supervise the pool complex and maintain a high, professional standard for a safe environment for all patrons.

Responsibilities include checking lifesaving equipment, monitoring cleanliness, collecting entrance fees, patrolling the pool, and completing incident reports to support safe operations. First Aid, self-motivation, and cash handling skills are essential, with pool operations experience preferred.

Qualifications

• First Aid certification is essential.
• Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised.
• Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to apply negotiation and conflict resolution strategies.
• Experience with cash handling and reconciliation is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Supervise pool complex users to a high and professional standard ensuring a safe environment for all patrons.
• Check lifesaving equipment and pool facilities before opening; monitor and maintain cleanliness.
• Collect entrance fees and check annual passes; reconcile cash and report to Council's office.
• Actively patrol the pool, enforce pool rules, and expel patrons if necessary.
• Complete incident reports for accidents, weather closures, misconduct, and other events.
• Complete daily, weekly and monthly checklists and maintain pool usage and water temperature records.
• Close the pool during inclement weather or low patronage; monitor supplies and reseal the complex as required.
