Job summary

Northern Midlands Council in Tasmania is seeking reliable Pool Lifeguards for Cressy, Campbell Town and Ross. In this casual role, you will ensure safety and enjoyment of visitors during open dates from December to March, monitor the pool area, assist patrons, and maintain water quality records.

No prior lifeguard experience is required as training will be provided to obtain the Pool Lifeguard Qualification (RLSA).

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years old at 28 November 2026.
• Must hold, or be able to obtain, a Tasmanian Working With Vulnerable People clearance.
• Strong swimming skills and the ability to respond quickly in emergency situations.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and following procedures.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role and complete Pool Lifeguard training.

Responsibilities

• Actively monitor the pool area and promptly respond to any incidents or emergencies.
• Provide excellent customer service and assist pool patrons with queries or concerns.
• Perform regular pool tests and maintain records of water quality and chemical levels.
• Assist with general cleaning tasks at the pool facility.
• Adhere to health and safety policies and procedures.
