Job summary

Orbit Australia Consulting Services – Glenroy VIC is seeking a permanent on-site worker to support Production and QA teams. You will travel to sites, prepare work areas, and operate lifting equipment to assist in fabrication and packaging.

A forklift license and safety awareness are essential, with room to grow within a hands-on production environment. The role requires following quality assurance policies, maintaining clean work sites, and documenting safety checks.

Qualifications

• Experience in on-site production or warehouse environments.
• Ability to read and follow safety and quality procedures.
• Capable of working with minimal supervision and escalate as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to Production Manager, QA Manager and Leading Hand.
• Obtain and maintain equipment operating licenses / permits as required (e.g., Driver's Licence).
• Prepare and maintain work areas to ensure jobs can be safely and efficiently completed.
• Use all tools and equipment in accordance with operating instructions.
• Operate machinery to assist in the production process.
• Inspect finished products for defects to ensure quality standards.
• Pack goods to be shipped and store materials properly in the warehouse.
• Complete safety risk assessments and safe operating procedures.

• Provide support to Production Manager, QA Manager and Leading Hand.
• Obtain and maintain equipment operating licenses / permits as required e.g. Drivers Licence. If loss of licence occurs immediately notify Manager.
• Prepare and maintain work areas to ensure jobs can be safely and efficiently completed.
• High level of initiative and ability to think laterally to identify issues and propose solutions.
• Complete jobs as per instructions (If you see "better ways" to undertake the job make suggestions to Manager who will determine the approach.).
• Use all tools and equipment in accordance with the relevant operating instructions.
• Maintain work areas and equipment as per manufacturers recommendations.
• Implement quality assurance policies and procedures.
• Prepare and travel to sites to complete work as directed.
• Attend sites and measure jobs as requested.
• Sign on and off work sites as required by the site owner/operator.
• When working on-site ensure that the daily claims book is signed by the client each day and note any requests that are outside the job scope prior to client signoff.
• When leaving sites ensure all material is cleaned from site and vehicle, tools and equipment is securely loaded.
• Complete safety risk assessments.
• Complete equipment checklists and safe operating procedures.
• Store goods and raw materials properly in the warehouse.
• Operate machinery to assist in the production process.
• Assemble materials and equipment as required.
• Monitor the fabrication process and complete quality documentation as required.
• Inspect finished products for defects to ensure quality standards are met.
• Maintain materials consumed on Aroflo.
• Pack goods to be shipped.
• Use lifting equipment and forklift trucks to fulfil orders.
• Clean work area following completion of shift.
