Job summary

Victoria Police's Crime Strategy and Projects Division (CSPD) seeks a Senior Policy / Projects Advisor to lead policy and legislative reform, manage complex projects, and coordinate inputs from Cabinet submissions, legislation, and strategy documents.

Reporting to the CSPD Manager, you will provide high-level advice to senior management, build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and ensure delivery within budget while aligning with Victoria Police priorities.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience leading and implementing policy and law reform projects.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and highly developed stakeholder management skills, including a demonstrated ability to influence and negotiate positive outcomes.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare high quality, strategic advice and briefings to senior management and develop detailed reports, business case submissions and project plans.
• Proven organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities, work independently and effectively as part of a team.
• Tertiary degree in relevant field is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Managing policy, projects, and legislative reform activities throughout all stages of the policy and project cycles
• Reviewing, analysing and coordinating stakeholder feedback on a range of sensitive and complex material, including Cabinet submissions, draft legislation, government consultation papers and strategy documents
• Providing clear and concise verbal and written advice to senior management, including development of high level briefings, submissions and policy options papers to make recommendations to inform executive decision making
• Maintaining knowledge of current and emerging issues within CCTIS, building productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and representing CSPD and Crime Group on committees and working groups
• Contributing as a member of CCTIS to ensure Victoria Police delivers its targets within budget, implements its strategies and operates within the corporate policy framework
