Job summary

Victoria Police – Public Service Positions in Melbourne seeks two VPSG-5 Senior Policy/Projects Advisor within the Family Violence, Strategy and Practice Division. The role focuses on policy analysis, legislative proposals, and coordinating strategic policy across family violence, sexual offences and child abuse.

Reporting to the Manager Strategy, Policy and Legislation Unit, you will drive strategic reforms, manage multiple projects, and engage key stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in policy and legislative development, and service delivery reforms.
• Experience in working in the fields of family violence, sexual assault or child abuse.
• Demonstrated experience in conducting complex research and analysis and the ability to provide authoritative and informed advice to key stakeholders both within and external to Victoria Police
• Demonstrated experience and skills in managing multiple pieces of work in short timeframes
• Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and leadership skills demonstrated in the del ivery of significant change initiatives or projects.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop policy analysis, advice and support for Victoria Police and whole of Victorian Government reform agenda across family violence, sexual assault and child abuse themes.
• Develop advice regarding cabinet submissions, legislative change proposals, organisational policies, government discussion papers, input to national policy requests and other policy proposals
• Support coronial proceedings including developing responses to the Coroner and witness preparation and support.
• Develop, support and deliver key projects including implementation of policy and legislative changes across the three crime themes.
• Support Divisional engagement with external government and sector stakeholders as well as internal stakeholders.
