Job summary

DFP Recruitment is seeking an experienced APS6 Design Strategist in Surry Hills, NSW to support policy, strategy and project delivery for a Federal Government client. You will lead planning, research and advisory efforts, coordinating with stakeholders across portfolios.

You will develop briefs, business cases and policy documents, interpret guidance, monitor budgets and contribute to committees. A tertiary qualification with relevant experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience in policy, strategy, project delivery or a related field.
• Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to turn complex information into clear recommendations.
• Excellent written communication skills, including experience preparing briefing papers, reports, policy documents or business cases.
• The ability to interpret policies and procedures and apply sound judgement to complex issues.
• Strong planning and organisational skills, including experience managing deadlines, risks and project reporting.
• Confidence engaging stakeholders and providing well-supported advice.
• The ability to work independently and support team priorities and delivery.

Responsibilities

• Developing and managing project plans, schedules and regular progress reporting.
• Undertaking independent research and analysis to inform policy, strategy and project activities.
• Preparing business cases, executive briefs, reports, plans and corporate documentation.
• Interpreting, drafting and reviewing policy and procedural material.
• Providing specialist advice to staff and stakeholders on complex matters.
• Monitoring project budgets and expenditure, and assisting with procurement and contract management.
• Identifying and managing project risks, issues and benefits.
• Supporting project quality to ensure deliverables meet stakeholder needs.
• Building relationships with internal and external stakeholders and contributing to committees and forums.
