Hays is seeking an APS6 Design Strategist in Surry Hills, NSW, with a hybrid work arrangement and a competitive hourly rate. The role focuses on shaping outcomes for people with disabilities through strategic project management, policy analysis, and stakeholder engagement to support government initiatives.

You will develop plans, conduct analyses, prepare briefs, and monitor budgets while building relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience in strategy, policy, programme delivery or project management within a complex environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret information and develop practical recommendations.
• Exceptional written communication skills, including the ability to prepare briefs, reports and executive-level correspondence.
• Proven stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to build productive relationships across diverse groups.
• The ability to manage competing priorities, work autonomously and deliver outcomes within tight timeframes.
• Experience leading initiatives and contributing to strategic planning or organisational improvement activities.

Responsibilities

• Developing and managing project plans, schedules and strategic initiatives to support organisational objectives.
• Conducting research, analysis and evidence-based reporting informing policy, strategy and business decisions.
• Preparing high-quality written materials, including business cases, executive briefs, reports and corporate documentation.
• Monitoring project performance, budgets and expenditure while supporting procurement and contract management activities.
• Identifying, assessing and managing project risks, issues and opportunities to ensure successful outcomes.
• Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to provide expert advice and drive strategic outcomes.
