Job summary

Eastern Underground Pty Ltd – Kinglake VIC is seeking a reliable, hands-on Pole to Pit Crew Leader to guide a field crew on pole to pit installations under our energy contract. You will also support pit and pipe installation for other utility stakeholders in a physical outdoor role and may travel occasionally (LAFHA applies when working away from home).

Qualifications

• Current Australian Driver Licence and Construction Induction Card (White Card) required.
• Desirable: Excavator ticket, Underground Service Locating, First Aid, MR/HR Truck licence, VESI accreditation.

Responsibilities

• Install, lay, and maintain pits and conduits for telecommunications and utility infrastructure.
• Operate vac trucks, Grundomat directional borers, and perform excavation, backfilling, and site reinstatement to specification.
• Conduct rod, rope, and network surveys, reading directly from site plans and job packs.
• Work safely around live underground services and infrastructure while maintaining accurate site registers and work logs.
• Collaborate closely with your crew to achieve daily production and quality targets.

Eastern Underground is a leading civil construction contractor delivering key utility projects across Victoria. We are seeking a reliable, hands-on Pole to Pit Crew Leader to lead our field crew.

While your primary focus will be delivering pole to pit installations under our energy contract, you will also support pit and pipe installation for other major utility stakeholders. This is a physical, outdoor role suited to someone who is a strong team leader, thrives in a team environment, takes pride in quality workmanship and is open to occasional travel (LAFHA applies when working away from home).

Key Responsibilities

Installation & Works:

Install, lay, and maintain pits and conduits for telecommunications and utility infrastructure.

Plant & Equipment:

Operate vac trucks, Grundomat directional borers, and perform excavation, backfilling, and site reinstatement to specification.

Technical Operations:

Conduct rod, rope, and network surveys, reading directly from site plans and job packs.

Safety & Compliance:

About You

Experience:

Background in pit and pipe, civil construction, or utility infrastructure installation.

Licences & Mandatory Tickets:

Current Australian Driver Licence and Construction Induction Card (White Card) required.

Desirable Tickets:

Excavator ticket, Underground Service Locating, First Aid, and an MR/HR Truck licence, VESI accreditation (highly regarded).
