Qualifications

• Previous experience working in pit and pipe laying, underground utility installation, or similar labouring roles.
• Strong understanding of health and safety practices relevant to excavation and underground work.
• Ability to operate hand tools and light machinery safely and effectively.
• Physical fitness and capability to perform manual labour in varying weather conditions.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• A current driver's licence.
• Relevant certifications such as White Card (Construction Induction).
• Willingness to undertake training and develop skills in specialist areas of underground services.

Responsibilities

• Assist in laying, joining and alignment of pipes.
• Operate and maintain hand tools and light machinery required for pit and pipe work.
• Conduct regular inspections of pits and pipes to identify defects or potential issues.
• Follow all health and safety protocols on site, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Work collaboratively with other crew members and supervisors to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of work completed.
• Support the cleaning and maintenance of work sites and equipment.

AusConnect Underground Services is seeking experienced Pit and Pipe Crew members to join our team in Caboolture, QLD. This is a full-time position that plays a critical role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of underground utility services. As part of our crew, you will be responsible for laying pipes, and ensuring all underground infrastructure is installed to the highest standards and in compliance with relevant regulations. This role is essential to our operations and directly contributes to the successful delivery of our projects across Queensland.
