Job summary

Bells Civil Excavations in Yarra Glen, Victoria, is seeking an experienced Plant and Machinery Operator for full-time work on diverse civil and power infrastructure projects. Immediate start, weekday work, with safety-focused teams on local and regional sites.

Ideal candidates hold a White Card, VEDN Module 1 and VESI competencies; HR licence preferred. You will operate excavators, assist with crane tasks, and work around underground assets on a growing portfolio of civil works.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Excavation and preparation for electrical infrastructure.
• Installation of underground conduits, pits and civil infrastructure.
• Excavation and preparation for power pole and streetlight installations.
• Assisting with installation and removal of poles and associated infrastructure.
• Operating excavators and other small plant.
• Dogging and assisting with small crane operations.
• Working safely around underground and overhead electrical assets.
• General civil construction and reinstatement works.

Works to include:

• Excavation and preparation for electrical infrastructure
• Installation of underground conduits, pits and associated civil infrastructure
• Excavation and preparation for power pole and streetlight installations
• Assisting with the installation and removal of poles and associated infrastructure
• Operating excavators and other small plant
• Dogging and assisting with small crane operations
• Working safely around existing underground and overhead electrical assets
• General civil construction and reinstatement works.

Previous experience working within the power industry is essential, with applicants required to hold current relevant VESI/ESI competencies and network approvals.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable working across both civil construction and power infrastructure projects, can work independently when required, and is equally happy working as part of a crew.
