Job summary

Chandler Macleod is seeking an experienced Project Manager to drive a large-scale finance transformation in a complex environment. The role is a hands-on contract with an immediate start in Sydney CBD, requiring governance, structure, and senior stakeholder engagement from day one.

The ideal candidate will have PMO leadership experience within large enterprises, deep finance process knowledge, and advanced Excel reporting skills.

Qualifications

• Experienced PM/PMO professional in a large enterprise.
• Strong finance process knowledge: planning, budgeting, forecasting, cost centre management and procure-to-pay.
• Experience mapping finance or business processes and identifying improvements.
• Experience establishing PMO governance and reporting from scratch.
• Advanced Excel and the ability to build reporting/tracking tools.
• Excellent stakeholder management with senior leaders and executives.
• Autonomous, able to deliver value from day one.

Responsibilities

• Map current-state finance processes end-to-end: owners, handoffs, systems, controls; identify improvements.
• Establish and manage PMO governance across critical planning cycles.
• Maintain the plan of record, milestones, dependencies, and delivery cadence.
• Track risks, issues, actions and decisions; ensure escalation and resolution.
• Develop executive-level reporting and provide updates to senior stakeholders.
• Coordinate planning inputs across Finance and Operations to meet deadlines.
• Drive consistency, accountability and transparency across the program.

Project Manager - Finance PMO

3-Month Assignment | Immediate Start | SydneyCBD

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to support a large-scale finance transformation initiative within a complex operational environment. This is a hands-on contract role requiring someone who can quickly establish structure, drive governance, and work closely with senior Finance and Operations stakeholders to deliver key planning outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Map current-state finance processes end-to-end, documenting process owners, handoffs, systems, controls and improvement opportunities.
• Establish and manage PMO governance across critical planning cycles.
• Maintain the plan of record, key milestones, dependencies and delivery cadence.
• Track risks, issues, actions and decisions, ensuring appropriate escalation and resolution.
• Develop executive-level reporting and provide regular updates to senior stakeholders.
• Coordinate planning inputs across Finance and Operations teams to ensure deadlines are met.
• Drive consistency, accountability and transparency across the program.

About You

• Proven experience as a Project Manager, Program Manager or PMO Lead within a large enterprise environment.
• Strong understanding of finance processes, including planning, budgeting, forecasting, cost centre management and/or procure-to-pay.
• Demonstrated experience mapping business or finance processes and identifying improvement opportunities.
• Experience establishing PMO frameworks, governance structures and reporting from scratch.
• Advanced Excel skills and the ability to build reporting and tracking tools independently.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with experience engaging senior leaders and executives.
• Comfortable working autonomously and delivering value from day one.
