Job summary

WB Infrastructure is seeking an enthusiastic plumbing apprentice to support water service and civil plumbing activities across the Sydney metro area. You will work with experienced plumbers and field crews, gaining hands-on experience toward independent field work.

Responsibilities grow with skills, including underground service exposure, meter work, and documentation. A strong safety mindset and willingness to learn are essential for long-term progression within WB Infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Currently in 1st–4th year of a plumbing apprenticeship.
• Hold a Construction White Card.
• Hold a current driver's licence, or be working towards one.

Responsibilities

• Assist with water service repairs and replacements.
• Help install water services and pipework.
• Assist with meter and property service works.
• Assist licensed plumbers and experienced technicians.

Job description

You will assist with a range of water service and civil plumbing activities, working alongside experienced plumbers and field crews. Your responsibilities will increase as your skills and experience develop, with the goal of progressing toward independent field work.

Key responsibilities

• Water service repairs and replacements
• Installation of water services and associated pipework
• Assisting with meter and property service works
• Excavation and exposure of underground services
• Backfilling and preparation for reinstatement
• Assisting licensed plumbers and experienced technicians
• Using hand tools, plumbing equipment and small plant
• Completing job photographs and field documentation
• Working safely around live water infrastructure and underground utilities
• Travelling to jobs across the Sydney metropolitan area

About you

• Currently in 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th year of a plumbing apprenticeship
• Have a genuine interest in civil plumbing and water infrastructure
• Reliable, hardworking and willing to learn
• Enjoy practical, outdoor and field-based work
• Can work effectively as part of a crew
• Have a strong safety mindset
• Hold a Construction White Card
• Hold a current driver's licence, or are working towards one
• Previous experience in plumbing, civil construction, excavation or utilities will be highly regarded but is not essential
• Secure, long-term work on an established Sydney Water maintenance contract
• Hands-on training with experienced plumbers and water infrastructure crews
• Support to complete your plumbing apprenticeship
• Exposure to civil plumbing, water services and utility infrastructure
• Opportunities for overtime and additional experience
• Career progression across WB Infrastructure's broader water, civil and utilities projects
• Opportunity to develop into an independent field technician or qualified civil plumber
