Heaton Rail is seeking a Software Engineer specializing in PLC and control systems to design, develop and test PLC software for electromechanical rail equipment. The role emphasizes robust control algorithms and rigorous verification across development stages.

The position is based in Western Sydney and involves collaboration with international engineering teams to deliver reliable software for rail vehicle HVAC and thermal management systems.

Formación

• Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
• Hands-on PLC programming and industrial control systems experience.
• Experience with IEC 61131 languages (ST, FBD, SFC).
• Experience developing and testing control software for electromechanical equipment or industrial systems.
• Experience across requirements analysis, design, testing, and root-cause analysis.

Responsabilidades

• Design, develop and implement PLC software and control algorithms for industrial electromechanical systems.
• Undertake system functional analysis and develop traceable software requirements and specifications.
• Perform software and system verification and validation, including FAT and site testing.
• Troubleshoot PLC, software and equipment faults, undertake root cause analysis and support ongoing software maintenance.
• Support software documentation, configuration management, defect tracking and continuous improvement activities.
