Job summary

Firmus Technologies is seeking a Platform Reliability Engineering Manager to lead a global reliability team, handling 24/7 on-call, incident command, and escalation for major incidents. The role focuses on driving automated runbooks, improving incident response, and ensuring production readiness across AI infrastructure platforms.

The ideal candidate has hands-on SRE experience, strong Linux/Kubernetes skills, and a track record of mentoring engineers.

Qualifications

• Hands-on engineering in infrastructure operations or site reliability engineering (Linux, networking, storage, Kubernetes/virtualisation).
• Experience leading 24/7 operations, SRE or production engineering teams at scale.
• Proficiency in scripting/programming (Python/Go/Bash) and infrastructure as code.

Responsibilities

• Lead the platform reliability team across regions, including hiring and development.
• Manage 24/7 on-call and incident command rosters.
• Serve as incident commander for major incidents.
• Act as senior escalation point for complex faults and RCA reviews.
• Manage service level objectives and report performance to leadership.
• Coordinate with specialist engineering teams on escalation paths and responses.
• Drive runbooks and automation to fix root causes and reduce toil.
• Develop engineers into senior roles with mentoring and rotations.
• Ensure new services are production-ready and properly supported.
