Job summary

Hunter Bond is seeking a Systems Specialist to join its Sydney infrastructure engineering team. You will contribute to the design, build, and operation of large-scale compute and storage environments powering a global trading platform.

In this role you will work across the technology stack—from hardware and operating systems to automation and observability—gaining exposure to how a leading technology-driven investment firm manages its infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
• Proficiency in Python, Ruby, or Bash scripting.
• Deep understanding of Bare Metal/Linux infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Manage a distributed compute environment and petabyte-scale storage systems.
• Install, configure, and monitor RHEL-based Linux environments.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues across the stack.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools (Python, Ruby, or Bash).
• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve complex issues and improve systems reliability.
