Job summary

Indigo Shire Council is seeking an experienced Operations team member to manage outdoor road, parks and public space maintenance, operate civil plant and heavy vehicles, and contribute to community infrastructure projects.

You will work with a small crew, applying safe work practices, reading construction plans, and delivering high standards while upholding the council's safety and service commitments in regional Victoria.

Qualifications

  • Certificate III in Civil Construction (or higher) is required or substantial relevant industry experience.
  • Experience reading construction plans, operating civil plant and heavy vehicles, and delivering road and infrastructure projects to a high standard.
  • Strong leadership, communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to coordinate and guide a small team when required.
  • Safety‑focused, adaptable and organised, with relevant licences and tickets including a White Card, Traffic Control, First Aid, and machinery operating qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain roads, parks and public spaces across Indigo Shire Council.
  • Operate plant, equipment and heavy vehicles as part of project delivery.
  • Lead a small crew when required and ensure safe work practices are followed.
