Job summary

Maranoa Regional Council is recruiting for multiple Plant Operator / Labourer positions across Yuleba, Surat and Roma in Queensland. The roles involve maintenance of parks, streetscapes and public spaces, operating a range of council plant and performing general labour across town assets, water, cemeteries and open spaces.

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity offering a 9-day fortnight with a rostered day off, generous annual leave, long service leave after seven years and other benefits

Qualifications

• Experience in parks and public spaces maintenance.
• Ability to operate and maintain council plant equipment.
• Willingness to work across regional locations and environments.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Council’s parks, gardens, open spaces, streetscapes across Yuleba, Wallumbilla and Jackson.
• Undertake mowing, weed control, spraying, irrigation, landscaping and litter control.
• Inspect and maintain waste facilities, playgrounds, showgrounds and other assets.
• Assist with local water operations and cemetery activities.
• Undertake general labour across roads, footpaths, culverts and drains.
• Safely operate a range of Council plant and machinery.
• Complete routine servicing and plant records as required.
• Support worksites with traffic control and site prep.
• Collaborate with Council teams to meet service standards.

Town and Surrounds - Yuleba

• Maintain Council’s parks, gardens, open spaces, streetscapes, pathways, cemeteries and town entrances across Yuleba, Wallumbilla and Jackson.
• Undertake mowing, weed control, spraying, irrigation, landscaping, tree maintenance and litter control.
• Inspect and undertake minor maintenance of waste facilities, playgrounds, skate parks, showgrounds and other community assets.
• Assist with local water operations, including water meter reading and providing support to plumbing staff.
• Assist with cemetery operations, including burials, interment of ashes and installation of plaques.
• Undertake general labouring and multi-skilled maintenance activities across roads, footpaths, culverts, gutters, drains and other Council assets.
• Safely operate and maintain a range of Council plant, machinery, tools and equipment.
• Complete routine servicing, fault reporting and plant records in accordance with Council requirements.
• Undertake worksite preparation, clean-up and traffic control activities.
• Work collaboratively across Council teams to support service delivery and meet agreed service level standards.

Town and Surrounds - Surat

• Maintain town entrances, streets, parks, gardens and open spaces through mowing, slashing, spraying, weed control, irrigation, landscaping and pruning.
• Undertake litter collection across streets, parks, open spaces and town approaches.
• Maintain and clean culverts, gutters, drains and streets.
• Undertake minor pavement and footpath repairs and maintenance.
• Safely operate and maintain a range of Council plant, machinery, tools and equipment.
• Complete routine servicing, fault reporting, plant records and required inductions in accordance with Council requirements.
• Undertake general labouring duties, including worksite preparation, clean-up and traffic control activities.
• Provide support to the Local Development team in delivering community-based projects and partnership programs.
• Work collaboratively across Council teams to support Waste, Facilities, Community Safety, Cemeteries and Airport services.
• Assist in meeting Council’s Service Level Agreements and maintaining effective service delivery across departments.
