Job summary

Maranoa Regional Council in Mitchell, Queensland, is seeking a Multi-Skilled Plant Operator / Labourer (Patrol Grader) to operate graders and other plant to maintain the road network and support road works.

This permanent, full-time position offers a 9-day fortnight, salary range listed below, and a comprehensive benefits package including locality allowance, long service leave, five weeks annual leave and parental leave provisions.

Responsibilities

• Operate graders and other plant to construct and maintain Council’s road network.
• Carry out final trim operations, including laser-guided grading where required.
• Maintain roads, table drains, guides and roadside furniture to required standards.
• Safely operate, service and maintain Council plant, equipment and machinery.
• Complete plant maintenance, operational records and documentation in line with Council requirements.
• Provide skilled plant operation for road repairs, renewals and upgrades.
• Undertake general labouring, worksite preparation and clean-up duties.
• Assist with traffic control signage and worksite setup.
• Work collaboratively with Council teams to meet service level requirements.

About the position:

To construct and/or maintain Council’s road networkand other assets to required service level standards through the provision ofskilled Plant operations and Labourer support. This position will operate arange of plant such as Grader, Roller, Excavator, Loader, Backhoe, Skidsteerand undertake general labouring duties.
