Job summary

Maranoa Regional Council is recruiting Plant Operator / Labourers for Roma, Qld. These permanent, full-time roles are on-site and cover parks, open spaces, streets and cemetery maintenance with a 38-hour work week.

Annual salary ranges from AUD 64,185.20 to 66,063.99, with fortnightly payments and a locality allowance. Applicants must have a White Card and a valid Drivers Licence, and be prepared for pre-employment checks.

Qualifications

• General Construction White Card is required.
• Current Drivers Licence is required.
• Experience in plant operator, civil construction, horticulture and/or local government.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the presentation of Roma’s parks and open spaces to service level standards, including mowing, weed control/spraying, irrigation, landscaping and pruning.
• Slashing, whipper snipping and weed control around urban streets and town entrances and cemetery.
• Litter control in parks, open spaces, town approaches and CBD daily cleaning.
• Maintenance of gutters and drainage infrastructure for parks & open spaces and long drains.

Work Arrangement: On-site

Council is recruiting Plant Operator / Labourers to join various teams inRoma.

Maintain the presentation of the Roma’s parks and open spaces in line with service level standards, including but not limited to:

• Maintenance of open spaces, parks and gardens, including mowing, weed control /spraying, irrigation, landscaping and pruning
• Slashing, whipper snipping and weed control including town entrance ways and Cemetery
• Litter control in parks, open spaces, and town approaches
• Maintenance of gutters and drainage infrastructure for parks & open spaces
• Mowing of parks & open spaces, footpaths and pathways
• Tree maintenance
• Inspection of park infrastructure i.e., playgrounds
• Garden beds and street scape enhancements and maintenance

Maintain the presentation of the Roma township area in line with service level standards, including but not limited to:

• Slashing, whipper sniping and weed control around urban streets including town entrances
• Litter control in urban streets and town approaches
• Maintenance of culverts, gutters and drainage infrastructure
• Maintenance of long drains and vacant land
• Daily cleaning of Roma’s CBD
• Street tree maintenance
• Assistance with the delivery of burials and cemetery maintenance

Suitable applicants will have:

• General Construction White Card
• Current Drivers Licence
• Experience in plant operator, civil construction, horticulture and/or local government
