Job summary

Mort & Co is seeking a Plant Operator for its Grassdale feedlot in Queensland. The role involves operating loaders, feed trucks and related equipment to batch and deliver high-quality ration to livestock with precision.

You will handle commodity loading, hay processing, trough cleaning and silage management while maintaining safety and accurate records in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Proven plant operation skills, including loaders, tipping trucks and ancillary equipment.
• Experience with liquid storage, dispensing and feed batching.
• A strong focus on feed accuracy, consistency and quality.
• Confidence using plant control systems, automated systems and Digistar.
• Strong communication, teamwork and record-keeping skills.
• A positive attitude and commitment to safe work practices.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Plant Operator in the Feedlot, you will play an important role in the effective operation of the feeding team. Working under general direction, you will operate plant equipment such as loaders and feed trucks to batch and deliver quality ration to livestock with a high level of accuracy and timeliness.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Operating feed trucks and associated supporting equipment
• Performing commodity area loader operations (outside loader)
• Operating heavy equipment for hay processing
• Cleaning troughs
• Tarping and untarping silage
