Job summary

Mort & Co is seeking a Manufacturing Operator to support the Milling team in producing quality steam-flaked grains for livestock rations. You will work under general direction to run steam mills, operate boilers, monitor controls, and maintain equipment, while upholding hygiene and safety standards.

Key tasks include sampling, data entry, and routine maintenance. Applicants should hold a Certificate III (or equivalent), forklift licence is a plus, and have experience with plant control systems

Qualifications

• Experience operating steam mills, boilers and complex plant equipment.
• Knowledge of liquid storage, dispensing and general maintenance activities.
• Confidence using plant control systems, automated systems and MES.
• Strong communication skills, teamwork and quality record keeping.

Responsibilities

• Obtain regular flake samples to ensure quality metrics align with nutritional standards.
• Operate package boiler including startup, shutdown and sampling requirements.
• Undertake general repairs and maintenance to milling infrastructure.
• Ensure department hygiene and cleanliness standards are met.
• Undertake ration sample collection and data entry.
