Job summary

Mackay Regional Council is seeking a Plant Operator – Backhoe for the Mirani Depot on a permanent full-time basis. You will help maintain and construct roads and drainage assets, operating a backhoe under supervision and contributing to civil projects with a focus on quality and safety.

The role offers a base salary plus up to 18% superannuation, with a 9-day fortnight roster and opportunities for career development and benefits programs.

Qualifications

• White Card required for works on civil sites.
• HR (Heavy Rigid) Licence or willingness to obtain within 12 months.
• Traffic Control Ticket is desirable.
• Certificate of Competency to Operate Road Construction Plant (backhoe) required.
• QLD C Class Drivers Licence or interstate equivalent.
• Experience in road and drainage construction/maintenance.
• Extensive experience operating road construction plant.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and construct roads, drainage and civil infrastructure.
• Operate backhoe and related road construction plant under supervision.
• Adhere to safety policies and project quality standards.

What You Need

• General Construction Safety \"White\" Card
• QLD Heavy Rigid Truck ‘HR’ Class Licence (or willingness to obtain within 12 months)
• Traffic Control Ticket (desirable)
• Certificate of Competency to Operate Road Construction Plant, especially a backhoe
• QLD “C” Class Drivers Licence or interstate equivalent
• Experience in Construction/Maintenance of Roads and Drainage
• Extensive Experience in Operating Road Construction Plant
