Rockhampton Regional Council is seeking a Plant Operator/Truck Driver to join the Plant and Resources team in Rockhampton. The role drives plant equipment, supports road building tasks, and ensures pre-start checks and safety are maintained.

Applicants must hold a White Card and a full HR or higher licence with crash box capability; experience in civil construction is preferred. The role offers a 9-day fortnight, competitive salary, and strong focus on safety.

Monday to Friday, 76 hours per fortnight, 9-day fortnight

$76,114 per annum (LGIA Stream B Level 4 + Site) + Superannuation

Do you have hands-on experience operating plant machinery in the civil construction industry? We’re seeking a motivated and reliable Plant Operator / Truck Driver to join our Plant and Resources team.

In this role, you’ll operate various plant equipment, assist with road building labouring duties as needed, and perform pre-start checks while maintaining a strong commitment to safety.

This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).

What we are looking for

Hold a Construction Industry Induction (White Card)

Must hold a valid HR (Heavy Rigid) licence or higher, with ability to operate a crash boxtransmission, or willingness to undertake training.

Extensive experience in the operation and maintenance of trucks, preferably in the civil construction industry.

Must be capable of working harmoniously and productively in a diverse and multi skilled work team.

A positive demeanour with a customer focused attitude.

Hold a current HR Class Licence or higher (unrestricted, with Crash box preferred) and demonstrate experience operating plant machinery and trucks within a civil construction environment.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multi-skilled team, communicate with colleagues and stakeholders, and deliver a high standard of service.
