Job summary

Cleanaway is seeking a highly skilled Team Leader with operator experience to join the Resource Recovery team in Clayton. The role involves supervising operations, mentoring staff and ensuring safe handling of waste materials.

The position is a permanent full-time role with early shift hours and potential overtime. Key duties include operating earthmoving equipment, assisting with load placement and maintaining high safety and service standards.

Qualifications

• Current Excavator and Loader tickets are required.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and mentoring ability.
• Strong work ethic and reliable attendance.
• Good mechanical aptitude and safety focus.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate earthmoving equipment (front end loader, material handler, skid steer).
• Assist drivers and the public with correct load placement.
• Excavate and load dry waste for compacting and covering waste.
• Operate vehicles and equipment safely per procedures.
• Support general housekeeping and project cleanliness.
• Provide high quality customer service and present a professional image.

• Monday to Friday 5am -1pm + potential OT
• Permanent Full-time - Clayton

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a highly skilled Team leader with Operator experience to join our team at our Resource Recovery in Clayton.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced heavy machinery operator with proven leadership skills who enjoys mentoring others and driving operational success in a vital environmental services role.

• Operating earthmoving equipment (Front End loader, material handler, skid steer and forklift licence)
• Assist drivers and the public with correct load placement
• Excavate and load dry waste (metal, wood, general rubbish and other material) to compact and cover waste
• Safely operate vehicles and equipment in line with procedures
• Assist with general housekeeping duties
• Maintain a professional image and always deliver high quality customer service
