Job summary

Locale Civil in Melbourne (via Symal) seeks experienced VESI/VEDN-accredited Plant Operators for permanent roles delivering essential utilities projects with a metro-based crew.

You will perform underground excavation on power networks, trenching, backfilling and site preparation, while adhering to VESI regulations and safety procedures, and completing daily pre-starts and safety reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience operating plant on underground utility networks.
• Must hold VESI/VEDN accreditation or equivalent.
• Current White Card and valid licences (HR and Driver’s) are required.

The role:

Join the fast-growing team at Locale Civil! Permanent opportunities for VESI/VEDN-accredited Plant Operators across Melbourne and West Melbourne delivering essential utilities projects with a high-performing metro-based crew.

Your everyday:

• Safe and precise excavation on underground power networks
• Conduct trenching, backfilling, and site preparation with accuracy
• Work in accordance with VESI regulations and company safety procedures
• Complete daily pre-starts, daily diaries, JSEAs and safety reporting
• Work collaboratively with ground crews, supervisors, and project managers.

Must Have:

• Current VESI/VEDN-accreditation
• Possess relevant WorkSafe competencies or accreditation certificates relevant to plant/machinery
• Demonstrated experience in plant operation on underground utility networks.
• Possession of a current Driver’s License
• Possession of a current Heavy Rigid (HR) Licence
• Construction Induction (White Card).
